Plumbing Re-Piping
The plumbing pipes in your home or business are not made to last forever, time will eventually take its toll on them and your home or business will need to be re-piped at some point. Re-piping is essentially the process of replacing the pipes in your home or business with new pipes that are up to code and can better withstand the current conditions of your water supply.
We recommend using CPVC plastic piping when re-piping most plumbing systems throughout the Tampa area. We install a completely new system from the water meter or from the well to the home and throughout the entire home. Usually, this will be done overhead through the attic unless you have an accessible crawl space under the home which has ample space for this to be done. In addition to replacing the pipes, we also replace all the miscellaneous shut-off valves. We plan the job so there is minimum downtime and so you also have water throughout the process until the job is completed. For your peace of mind, we warrant the installation including all parts and labor for 5 years, and the CPVC and CPC piping are warranted for 20 years.
Why To Re-Pipe?
There can be a number of factors that cause the structural integrity of your pipes to break down over time and these can vary depending on the type of pipes you have installed as well as the water source feeding these pipes. Old metal pipes such as galvanized pipes start to close up with rust, minerals and calcium deposits causing pressure drops in the water system. Older homes with plastic pipes such as Polybutylene can start to react with a substance such as chlorine in the public water supply causing these types of pipes to become brittle or to fracture therefore compromising the integrity of the piping system. In addition, hard water which is commonly found here in the Tampa Bay Area can have a negative effect on pipes over time, such as causing pitting or pin holes in copper pipes. When you have us inspect your pipes we can best determine what may be causing them to breakdown and inform you of any measures you may be able to take in order to prevent this or at least minimize this from occurring in the future.
